When he was three, Monger began enjoying getting on the wheel of a vehicle as his father purchased his first go-kart for him. In 2016, he began his professional racing journey with the F4 British Championship with JHR Developments and raced in 2017 as well where he was placed at 12th and 14th respectively.
He got both legs amputated after involving in a high-speed crash on 16 April 2017 at the Donington race. Weeks before his 18th birthday, he was airlifted to hospital following the terrific crash, a JustGiving page was created by JHR Developments which raised more than £500,000 in the first 24 hours for his treatment.
He reprised in track in July 2017 where he experimented a Fun Cup Volkswagen Beetle acclimatized with extra hand controls at Brands Hatch. After his accident, he drove a single-seater racing car where he tested a BRDC British Formula 3 car at Oulton Park for the Carlin Motorsport.
